Description

Come and discover for yourself why Gentle Somatic Yoga® is becoming so popular worldwide!

A Somatic Journey to Sacred Center through Gentle Movement:

A Gentle Somatic Yoga® Deep Dive Intensive.

Join Gentle Somatic Yoga creator/founder James Knight and his host Wai Ying Tham for a weekend of advanced training. These two Movement Education leaders, renown for their gifts in the emerging field of Yoga + Somatics, will be offering their passion and love in comprehensive sessions of therapeutic movement and restoration.

Discover for yourself why Gentle Somatic Yoga is globally recognized for offering immediate and lasting relief from chronic pain, stiffness, and other tension-based patterns.

As the practice of Yoga continues to become mainstream, people are searching for gentler and more nourishing practices in which to move. In this 10-hour weekend intensive, you will be invited to explore innovative techniques that combine Hatha Yoga, Hanna Somatic Education, Core Energetics, pranayama (breathing exercises), and healing visualizations. We will study the root cause of most muscular pain and re-educate and strengthen the brain-to-muscle connection.

To do this, you will be guided through therapeutic corrective movement sequences called Somatic Movement Flows®. Instead of traditional stretching, these mindful sequences reprogram muscles to dissolve chronic pain, dramatically improve flexibility, and re-establish good posture. The results return us to our natural state, which is peace and well-being.

Introducing 12+ new Somatic Movement Flows to inspire and enhance your yoga practices. Participants will have an embodied experience that will not only help them, but can also be shared with their family members, friends, clients and students. There will be PowerPoint presentations outlining the history, philosophy, methodology and neuroscience behind GSY. Each day we will explore the Somatic Movement Flows more thoroughly with “Learning Laboratories”, along with a Q&A following each movement practice session.

This interactive and experiential intensive program is the perfect introduction to GSY for yoga teachers/therapists, bodyworkers, movement educators, as well as the lay person. You will learn practical and effective skills that can immediately be incorporated into your classes and/or 1-on-1 sessions with clients. Each day’s event is stand-alone and unique. When experienced in tandem, the cumulative learning is comprehensive in its scope.

PROGRAM THEMEFind Your Inner Yes

When Somas connect in shared intention they enliven the creation of something completely new and novel. Throughout this Intensive we will participate in experiential activities as a group and as individuals that will energize the alchemy of yoga (union). Together we will activate a heightened collective awareness that will help us to deepen into the connections between and among one another, creating a unique learning opportunity. This is James Knight’s first time to Australia.
