A Somatic Journey to Sacred Center through Gentle Movement:
A GSY Weekend Program with two separate events that can be taken individually or as a series.
Join certified GSY Level 3 Teacher Cheryl Mason for a weekend of complete restoration. Cheryl will be offering her passion and love in these restorative daily sessions of therapeutic movement.
Discover for yourself why Gentle Somatic Yoga has become globally recognized for offering immediate and lasting relief from chronic pain, stiffness, and other tension-based patterns. This interactive and experiential 2-part workshop is the perfect introduction to GSY and is suitable for Yoga teachers, body workers, active seniors, and beginning Yoga students. Participants will have an embodied experience that will not only help them, but can also be shared with their family members, friends, clients and students. Regardless of age or ability, you will learn practical and effective skills which you can immediately incorporate into your movement practice.
As the practice of Yoga continues to become mainstream, people are searching for gentler and more nourishing practices in which to move. In this 6-hour weekend workshop you will be invited to explore innovative techniques that combine Hatha Yoga, Hanna Somatic Education, pranayama (breathing exercises), and healing visualizations. We will study the root cause of most muscular pain and re-educate and strengthen the brain-to-muscle connection.
To do this, Cheryl will introduce 8+ therapeutic and corrective movement sequences called Somatic Movement Flows®. Instead of traditional stretching, these mindful sequences reprogram muscles to dissolve chronic pain, dramatically improve flexibility, and re-establish good posture. The results return us to our natural state, which is peace and well-being.
Additionally, this dynamic workshop will include PowerPoint presentations of the history, philosophy, neuroscience and methodology behind GSY, as well as learning laboratories for review. Participants will be able to connect with the wisdom of their body during a somatic meditation experience. The workshop will close with a Q&A with Cheryl concerning the many ways that GSY can enhance your life and the lives of those you serve.
