I N T E R O C E P T I O N —
is contemporarily defined as the sense of the internal state of the body. It encompasses the brain’s process of integrating signals relayed from the body into specific subregions, allowing for a nuanced representation of the physiological state of the body. This is important for maintaining homeostatic conditions in the body and, potentially, aiding in self-awareness and self-correction.

ABOUT THE COURSE
In traditional Hatha yoga, asanas (postures) are often practiced with the intent to reach a “full expression” of any given pose. This approach, however, often precludes developing a more intuitive relationship with the body, thus bypassing important internal messages for self-correction that would lead to more nourishing and generative choices for everyday lifestyle.
Gentle Somatic Yoga was designed to address this issue, and to create an approach to practice that fosters greater interoception and embodiment. A synthesis of traditional yoga postures, Hanna Somatic Education, breathing techniques, and healing visualizations, Gentle Somatic Yoga provides a deep and profound experience of one’s own anatomy.
Each session is approximately one hour long and will be recorded. No matter where you are in the world — and even if you cannot tune in at the time of the actual broadcast — you can still benefit from taking the webinar at a time that works best to you. Listen to it as many times as you like.
