Join James Knight, creator/founder of Gentle Somatic Yoga® (GSY) and Gwen Siciliano, GSY Certified Practitioner, for an evening of complete restoration. These two Movement Education pioneers, renowned for their gifts in the emerging field of Somatics + Yoga, will be offering their passion and love in a restorative session of therapeutic movement and vibrational healing. As the practice of Yoga continues to become mainstream, people are searching for gentler and more nourishing practices in which to move. In this 2½-hour introductory class, you will be invited to explore innovative techniques that combine Hatha Yoga, Hanna Somatic Education, Core Energetics, pranayama (breathing exercises), and healing visualisations. We will study the root cause of most muscular pain and re-educate the brain-to-muscle connection. To do this, you will be guided through therapeutic corrective movement sequences called Somatic Movement Flows®. Instead of traditional stretching, these mindful sequences reprogram muscles to dissolve chronic pain, dramatically improve flexibility, and re-establish good posture. The results return us to our natural state, which is peace and well-being.
This class is suitable for Yoga teachers, body workers, active seniors, and beginning Yoga students. Regardless of age or ability, you will learn practical and effective skills which you can immediately incorporate into your movement practice.

Somatic Sensory Activation & Integration through Vibrational Alchemy:
Be held in a blissful and nurturing sacred container where you are free to simply be as you are intuitively guided into deep relaxation through scent & sound. Bring a votive candle (contained), an altar item (sacred objects, e.g. gem/crystal, photo/image that speaks to you, flowers, etc.) and your favorite pillow/blanket, along with personal restorative intentions for yourself.

Just prior to starting and/or just after concluding the class, trained aromatherapist and wellness educator Ignatius Vigé will introduce therapeutic essential oil blends to support your somatic alignment and balance.

If the individual is open to receiving Sound it has a delicious way of speaking to every cell in our body. – Cherry Chapman
Cherry Chapman is an Existential Counselor with an interest in somatic healing. From her experience, she strongly believes that sound can significantly contribute to the body’s natural inclination to maintain balance, to compensate and to heal. At the conclusion of this class you will enjoy 20-30 minutes of sound healing by Cherry that is meant to support your body’s somatic integration.
About James Knight:
James Knight, E-RYT, a pioneer in the field of Yoga + Somatics, created Gentle Somatic Yoga out of his passion for the art of embodied movement. James has been an Integrative Therapist and Experienced Yoga Teacher 25+ years. He is certified as a Hanna Somatic Educator by the Novato Institute for Somatic Studies. Currently he travels extensively facilitating GSY Teacher Training Certifications, Classes, Workshops and Spiritual/Immersion Retreats across the planet.
About Gwen Siciliano:
Gwen Siciliano, E-RYT 500, GSY Practitioner Level 2, is a Therapeutic Yoga teacher with extensive training who practices daily and has taught body movement of all kinds for over 30 years. She has developed and taught an innovative Yoga Therapy style for 10 years, focusing on experiential anatomy, movement re-patterning and embodiment of the deeper teachings of yoga as pathways to a self-healing, self-regulating body.
