Cultural Immersion Retreat – Vietnam & Cambodia

For years James has heard about the beautiful Vietnamese people and culture from his close personal friends Jen and Lauren, who financially support an orphanage in Vietnam. The time is right to explore this unique culture, and this retreat will offer many happy surprises and delightful twists & turns. If you are ready to explore exotic beaches, jungles, and sacred sites then you won’t want to miss this unique retreat opportunity! If this piques your interest, please use this LINK to place your name on our email list if you aren’t already. You will be notified as soon as details become available.

Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country on the South China Sea known for its beautiful beaches, rivers, Buddhist pagodas and bustling cities. Hanoi, the capital, pays homage to the nation’s iconic Communist-era leader, Ho Chi Minh, via a huge marble mausoleum. Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) has French colonial landmarks.

Cambodia is another Southeast Asian nation whose landscape spans low-lying plains, the Mekong Delta, mountains and the Gulf of Thailand coastline. Phnom Penh, its capital, is home to the art deco Central Market, glittering Royal Palace and the National Museum’s historical and archaeological exhibits. In the country’s northwest are the ruins of Angkor Wat, a massive stone temple complex and largest religious monument in the world, built in the early 12th Century during the Khmer Empire.

Besides exploring Vietnam and Cambodia’s beautiful beaches, jungles, and mountains, we will spend part of a day doing a Karma Yoga Project (a yogic path of selfless service) benefiting Mary’s House.

More About James’ Friend Jen And Her Brainchild, Mary’s House

Mary’s House is the creation of Jen Flynn, an American volunteer who lived in Vietnam from 2008-2010. As a long-time supporter and partner of a non-profit called Giving it Back to Kids, Jen longed to provide a safe place for disadvantaged Vietnamese children to be well cared for and receive an education. Her dream was to open a home for such kids in Da Nang and name it after her grandmother, Mary Ciccaglione. Mary had been a loving and powerful influence in Jen’s life, encouraging her to travel, learn, and experience life to the fullest. Jen inspired over a dozen volunteers from around the world as well as friends and family members to fund raise. Within a few months the funding was available to open and operate Mary’s House for its first year, making her dream a reality! Mary’s House opened in January of 2012.

Angkor Wat, in Cambodia, is one of the many beautiful places we will explore on this immersion. Below is a map.
